AP Exam of 3 or Better: Advanced Placement courses are a great way to qualify as CCR. Performing well can earn you college credit based on the end of course examination. Additionally, the College Board website has valuable information regarding AP courses, testing, and preparation. Currently, students may seek to take AP courses through SC Virtual School. 

Pass 6 Dual Enrollment Hours with a C or Better: Similar to AP courses, dual enrollment classes are college classes that you can earn both high school and college credit for. Our current dual enrollment partnership is through Denmark Technical College. Students who pass 2 dual enrollment courses (or 6 hours) with a C or better, qualify as CCR and earn college credit. Unlike AP courses, there is no "exam" in order to earn college credit.

ACT Score of 20 or Better: The ACT test is one of the tests offered to third year students and is generally used for entrance into 4-year universities. WEHS offers one of the college entrance exams to each third-year high school student free of charge. Learn more about how you can prepare and/or register for the ACT. Students are also welcome to and encouraged to take these tests on their own on select Saturdays at a National Testing Center.  

SAT Score of 1020 or Better: The SAT test is one of the tests offered to third year students and is generally used for entrance into 4-year universities. Students are also welcome to and encouraged to take these tests on their own on select Saturdays at a National Testing Center. 

Complete a State Approved Work-Based Learning Program: Work-based learning (WBL) is a school-coordinated, sponsored, coherent sequence of workplace experiences that are related to a students' career goals and/or interests, are based on instructional preparation, and are performed in partnership with local businesses, industries, or other organizations in the community. WBL enables students to apply classroom instruction in a real-world business or service-oriented work environment. 

CTE Completer with Certification: Complete a CTE Pathway within their elective credits required for graduation. Each semester, students can take courses within their pathway to become a completer. By doing this, and earning a certification (offered during one of the three or four courses during the pathway) the student qualifies as a completer. CTE courses and pathways are offered at both WEHS (Administrative Services and Culinary Arts Management) and Barnwell County Career Center.

Earn a 3 or Higher on each subtest of the WIN Ready to Work Assessment: The WIN Ready to Work assessment is an employability test that is required for all third-year high school students. The WIN assessment is a great way for all students to earn their career ready requirement.  Learn more about the WIN Ready to Work Assessment. 

ASVAB Score of 31 or Better: The ASVAB test, commonly though to be for armed forces enlistment, is a valuable career exploration tool. The ASVAB is offered to students in coordination with our School Counselor's office. The taking of the ASVAB is voluntary and does not commit students to anything related to the armed forces but can be used to help align career paths based on the strengths of the students. Learn more about the ASVAB.
